Wednesday 3 February 2010:

Welcome to Access, which this week is looking forwards to spring and summer holidays with a selection of features from our travel team.

Our members use us to arrange their getaways because we know how important holidays are. We're completely independent, we don't push packages or destinations and our multilingual specialists can handle every aspect of the trip. Most importantly, we’re on hand 24/7 in case members need our help with anything from restaurant reservations and entertainment bookings to lost passports.

Call us for expert advice on booking holidays across the globe, and see the travel section of our website for more features to pique your wanderlust.

Le Marais, Paris - Paris Tourist Office / Amelie Dupont ASK THE EXPERT: EASTER BREAKS |

The Easter bank holidays will be the next long weekend for many of us, and with children off school for a fortnight we’re already getting plenty of requests from members to arrange both short breaks and longer trips. We’ve asked travel expert Kathy Gardner for her favourite destinations this April, tips on cities holding Easter parades, ideas for an out of the ordinary holiday and advice on breaks in the UK.

Read Kathy’s expert advice on Easter breaks, as well as our tips on planning summer holidays, then call us to make plans you can start looking forward to.

Waiting at an airport FLYING IN COMFORT (AND WITHOUT FEAR) |

Flying is the safest way to travel, and we can help ensure it’s the most comfortable too – even in economy class. Our travel team has put together some tips on flying, including advice on sleeping, keeping children entertained and how best to beat jet lag on long-haul trips.

And if members are afraid of flying, our contact book is filled with therapists who’ll soon help them feel as comfortable above the clouds as Chuck Yeager does. Read our flight tips and call 020 7479 3444 or email access@tenuk.com for more detailed advice or to talk to the travel team about how we can help with bookings.

Spa - massage PLANNING A SPA BREAK |

‘Many members love going to a spa to relax, but choosing which one to go to can be taxing,’ says Francesca Sheldon, our beauty and retail specialist. ‘I ran a health club in a five-star hotel for years so have a good radar for spas and, as I keep an eye on venues across the world, I can advise on standards, atmospheres, prices and treatments.’

Francesca’s put together a guide to spa etiquette, featuring tips on treatments, dress codes and how to make the most of the visit, but call us for personal advice on arranging a spa break that’s right for you. From a romantic resort to one that welcomes children, we’ll do the hard work – you just relax.

Verona Arena - Italian State Tourist Board GLOBAL CULTURAL EVENTS |

‘I travel for travel’s sake,’ said Robert Louis Stevenson. ‘The great affair is to move.’ We would not disagree with the great novelist and travel writer – we rarely need an excuse to hop on a plane ourselves – but sometimes it’s good to have a focus for your wanderings.

Our travel team has picked its favourite reasons to pack a bag this year, from the Verona Opera in June to the Montreux Jazz Festival in July and Kenya’s Lamu Festival in December. Read our suggestions and call us for more tips on events taking place across the globe that are worth basing a holiday around.

Guidebooks are an indispensable tool when visiting a new city, but they’re designed to appeal to as many tastes as possible. Our travel specialists, however, can produce bespoke guides for our members that are tailored to their interests. Love art? We’ll give you details of all the major galleries, as well as insider tips on some little-known gems. Travelling with children? Our team will tailor restaurant recommendations to focus on family-friendly venues and make sure the guide includes lots of kid-appropriate activities.

Read our travel specialists’ favourite cities for 2010, and call us to find out how we can guide you through them personally.
